Area agency helps seniors stay in homes with HCBS option
East Central Kansas Area Agency on Aging assists 60 plus residents who want to remain at home but need support. Case manager Jane Taul notes cheaper costs and happier seniors in place. HCBS requires Medicare eligibility and tasks such as meal prep and medication help. About 50 Franklin County participants exist. Senior Care Act funding froze, but agency remains entry point and aims to assist non Medicare-eligible seniors. Call for help.
