Madrid bombings mastermind tied to al Qaida says French investigator
French private investigator Jean-Charles Brisard told AP that Spanish officials believe Abu Musab al Zarqawi, a Jordanian linked to al Qaida, headed the Madrid railway bombings that killed 190 and wounded over 1,800. Detonators and dynamite were reportedly found near Alcala de Henares as authorities probe the attacks. Caribbean Community declines to recognize Haiti's new government amid concerns over Aristide exile and U N investigations.
