Three Louisiana youths led a long multi county chase ending at Hunt Midwest Quarry after ramming vehicles and injuring deputies. Brown Dupont and Smith Brown are charged with robbery and multiple felonies. they face adult prosecution for two juveniles held for security.

City offers 90 trees through Street Tree program
Garnett residents may obtain one of 90 trees in the city Street Tree program run by the Garnett Tree Board. Three varieties are available this year Autumn Applause ash Amur maple and Yoshino flowering cherry. Trees will be five to six feet tall in five gallon containers. Residents pay plant and maintain, city assists elderly with planting. Pick up starts the week of April 14 at Garnett Flower & Gifts after payment, info at city hall (913) 448-5496.
