The Kansas Supreme Court on Monday issued amendments to statewide child support guidelines taking effect April 1. The changes cut schedules by about 50 percent and standardize payments in divorce cases for noncustodial parents, primarily fathers, across districts. Judges now have eight adjustment factors for deviations and a list of 10 change-in-circumstance triggers, including a 10 percent income shift, a child’s 7th and 16th birthdays, and emancipation.
