Obituary: Roberta Ellen Michaels of Wellsville

Roberta Ellen Michaels 67 of Wellsville died March 22 2003 at home. Funeral 10:30 a.m. Monday at Town and Country Church of Christ with Noble Gould and Jenny Gould officiating. She was born Feb 4 1936 in Williamsburg to Robert Aquila and Amy May McCurdy. She worked for King Radio Ottawa Truck and Our Own Hardware retiring about 1990. She married Lawrence Ray Yohe July 1 1952 in Garnett. later divorced. She married Floyd E Michaelis Sept 4 1987. Survived by daughter Ellen Loraine Gould four sisters five brothers two stepdaughters two stepsons four grandchildren and several great and step great grandchildren. Burial Highland Cemetery. Memorials to Town and Country Church of Christ. Condolences through dengelmortuary.com.

Number of twins in Southeast Junior High seventh grade tops eleven

In Pine Bluff Arkansas the Southeast Junior High seventh grade comprises 520 students with 11 sets of twins. Bear River Massacre site blessed by Shoshone Nation near Preston

The Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation marked its first ownership of 26 acres at the Bear River Massacre site two miles northwest of Preston Idaho. About 250 tribal members gathered to bless the land where U.S. soldiers killed as many as 250 Shoshone in 1863.

Teenager Found After Long Search Ends in California

A three week manhunt for a convicted murderer and a missing 14 year old ended 2,000 miles from her home when a passerby recognized Terry Drake's truck in Sacramento. Lindsey Ryan appeared safe. she had dyed her blonde hair black. Patrick Ryan praised the rescue as a happy ending. Drake, 56, was arrested by police. Lindsey had left her Jones Michigan home on March 1 to meet him after church meetings and email exchanges.

County adopts new burn rules for Franklin County

Franklin County adopts a burn permit policy requiring rural burning to obtain a permit and notify the dispatch center. The Franklin County Firefighters Association can declare a no burn day on danger. Violators face up to 200 in fines. Permits are valid three years and issued by the county clerk. Deputies will ticket noncompliers. Daily burn decisions rely on the National Weather Service index with a 9 a.m. ruling.
