Video cameras urged for Kansas City squad cars
Alvin Brooks of the Ad Hoc Group Against Crime urged the Kansas City Police Board to install about 120 patrol car cameras at a cost near 4,000 each to restore trust after two controversial shootings. He cited Timothy Wilson and Carol Kerns cases and noted potential protection against false complaints while officers welcomed clearer evidence. Commissioners debated funding, training, and implementation timing as Overland Park already reports benefits from camera use.
