Court rules against kicking Chapman family from church

Superior Court Judge McIntyre Faries ruled that John H. Chapman 49 and his daughter Connie Ray 22 may attend services at Marista Baptist Church while Betty 41 remains barred during ongoing testimony. The injunction against the entire family, issued in August 1961, was not made permanent as evidence of uncouth singing was deemed insufficient. Eurich testified that Mrs Chapman disrupted services by murmuring liar and making faces and once toasted him with communion wine though under disciplinary action. He recounted a 1960 conflict over a wedding arrangement and threats to a deacon, leading to the family’s expulsion by vote for un Christian conduct, yet they continued attending church meetings.

Mae West Returns in Odd Mr Ed TV Teaser

Mae West appears in a rare cameo on CBSs Mr Ed series alongside the talking horse. Critics note the star’s wit clashes with the shows kid friendly tone and recall her famous lines as dated and mismatched with modern audiences. Bob Hope also stars in NBCs late night format, but Friday’s episode Her School for Bachelors fails to spark strong laughs.
