Royals still undecided on final rotation slots in spring camp

As camp nears end with seven games left the Kansas City Royals have not named the final two rotation spots. Manager Buddy Bell and GM Allard Baird with scouts and coaches are weighing Mike Wood Denny Bautista and Jeremy Affeldt amid trade chatter. If one earns a rotation slot another may join the bullpen where closer Mike MacDougal is out six weeks. Redman knee surgery and Sweeney bone bruise also shape plans for early April. Prospects include a possible 11 or 12 pitcher staff with an extra position player.
