University of Kansas reviews cadaver program after scandal
Lawrence AP The University of Kansas says it is reviewing its willed body program to ensure donors' wishes are followed after reports National Anatomical Service misused seven cadavers from Tulane University. Tulane suspended ties with NAS, while KU notes no breach yet and continues safeguards. The university handles about 200 donated cadavers yearly and charges NAS a fee to access the program. Last year KU sent 60 bodies to international medical schools with donor remains returned for cremation at Oak Hill Cemetery.
