CH Students Win FFA Awards In State Honors

Two Central Heights students Curt Guilfoyle and Becky Vining earned the State Farmer degree through FFA reflecting four years of leadership and farming work. Clint Ball secured the East Central District horse proficiency award and will compete in the state contest next month. Becky and Curt to be recognized June 1 at the State FFA Convention in Manhattan.

Extension Foresters Demonstrate How To Plant A Tree

Extension foresters Gerald Bratton and Bill Loucks led a tree planting demonstration at the Bob Medlin farm northeast of Paola. They advised site selection, soil drainage checks, proper spacing by purpose, fall plowing for large plantings, and spring planting in March through early April.
