Kansas tops Boston 72 53 in NCAA tourney opener

Marcus and Markieff Morris combined for 31 points to help top Boston University 72 53 in Tulsa. Kansas, the No 1 seed, shook off last season’s upset by Northern Iowa as they moved past a tough first half and pulled away in the second half led by the Morris twins and solid guard play. Boston, on an 11 game win streak, led early behind John Holland who scored 18, but cooled after halftime as Kansas surged to a 58 43 lead and controlled the game to advance toward a round of 16 clash with Illinois UNLV winner.
