I-35 patch project to span 41 miles in Kansas

KDOT will begin a 41 mile concrete patching project on I-35 starting near Beto Junction and running northeast through Coffey Osage and Franklin counties to Wellsville. Northbound lanes will be limited to one lane with a 60 mph limit. southbound work to follow. Realm Construction, Inc. of Blue Springs Mo won a 2.4 million contract. Work weekdays daylight hours with completion targeted for late summer weather permitting.

Police Notes from Ottawa Report Damaged Building and Thefts

Police records show at 8:48 a.m. Thursday an unknown suspect damaged the Oliver Chiropractic building at 602 S. Maple St. A theft occurred at Love's Truck Stop at 203 E. 23rd St. on Wednesday night with items taken by an unknown suspect. A separate incident took place at 5:31 p.m. Thursday at Dollar General, 305 N. Main.

Wellsville Police and Ottawa Fire Log Report

Wellsville Police recorded multiple incidents in two days including noise at Walnut Street and welfare checks at Main and East Sixth, animal complaint at East Sixth and public assist at Main, East Fourth, and East Ninth. Ottawa Fire logged 1:53 p.m. calls at 205 Grant Street with six medical assists Wednesday and Thursday.
