Early bird fossil in Madagascar links dinosaurs to birds
Paleontologists report Rahona ostromi, a raven-sized bird from Madagascar over 65 million years old, with a long tail and a large killing claw like meat eating theropods. The find, described by Catherine Forster, supports the theory that birds descended from dinosaurs and may be a key fossil near Archaeopteryx on the bird family tree.
