WaKeeney Opens Mini-Speedway Near Fairgrounds
In WaKeeney Kansas the WaKeeney Kart Club shifts racing action to a new one seventh mile dirt oval near Barclay and 13th Street just south of the county fairgrounds. The track draws up to 400 spectators weekly and will host racers from Kansas and neighboring states, offering free weekend entertainment for local youth. The site is the former WaKeeney drive-in theater, now repurposed for kart racing as Interstate 70 traffic provides easy access.
