Session For Hi Fi Fans At Ottawa University
R Edwin Brown director of the University of Kansas radio station will visit Ottawa Monday evening to demonstrate high fidelity record playing and radio equipment in Ottawa University auditorium. The session is open to the public and broadcast portions by KU FM. Brown previously impressed Miss Ruth Lathrop and Dr Bemmels with a public demonstration last spring. He will also speak Monday afternoon at the university religious radio conference.

Call Girl Gave Earnings To Heir in 1951 52
Pat Ward testified she earned between 10000 and 15000 dollars as a call girl while living with heir Minot Jelke and turned most of it over to him. She shared Jelke's Fast Side apartment for several months in the winter of 1951 52. A jury tries Jelke in General Sessions Court on charges he induced her to lead prostitution to support him. She named men who paid her 50 to 200 dollars for favors.

Truck Through A Bridge Injures Man In Lyons
A 20 foot wooden bridge over a ravine near Lyons Kansas collapsed yesterday as a pickup truck entered it. Driver Elmer Monroe, a farmer, was injured and hospitalized.

Deaths Mrs S C Lathen former Ottawa resident
Mrs S Clair Lathen formerly Estelle Hughes of Ottawa died suddenly March 6 at her home in Grand Island Nebraska. Funeral was March 10 at First Methodist Church with graveside rites by the Eastern Star. She was born December 8 1890 near Ottawa, taught school at Lane, married in 1910, moved to Grand Island in 1919. Survived by husband two sons Rex Hughes Lathen of Des Moines and Thomas Barrow Lathen of Hastings five grandchildren one brother Cyrus Hughes of Ottawa and three sisters Linnie Cartzdamner California Gertrude Barrows Vida Oregon and Sadie Steele Ottawa. Wayne Gilliland and Mrs Gertrude Phillips of Ottawa are cousins.

State Flood Law Defeated in House Vote
TOPEKA A proposed constitutional amendment to permit state construction of flood control and water conservation works was defeated on a final vote today in the House.
