The seventh annual Mayor's Prayer Luncheon will be Tuesday March 19 at Ottawa University Mowbray Union. Doors open 11 30 a.m. buffet lunch 11 45 a.m. Guest speaker is Elbert Calkins of Shawnee president of Calkins Electric Supply Co Inc with a finance degree from Rockhurst College and an MBA from California Coast University. Ottawa MS Walk returns to Forest Park for fundraiser
The MS Walk Against MS in Ottawa joins eastern Kansas sites on April 13. A 9.2 mile course starts at 9 a.m. and ends at Forest Park with a post walk cookout, rest stops, and door prizes. Last year 80 walkers in Franklin County raised nearly $5,000. 24 registered now. Funds support the National MS Society and Mid America chapter services, research, and education. Board OKs new budget to get extra state funds
