Kansas sees 65+ population dip in Census data
Kansas was one of six states and the District of Columbia to report fewer residents aged 65 and older on July 1, 2003 versus April 1, 2001. Analysts attribute the drop to fewer births during the Great Depression era, with aging trends later offset by longevity and healthier lifestyles.
