Council Grove Braves rout Pomona in regional final
Council Grove powered by Ron Keys 25 points and 14 straight third quarter points defeated Pomona 63 to 40 to win the regional championship and advance to the State Class B tournament in Emporia. Pomona led early but faded after a 30 28 halftime score as Council Grove pulled away in the third and fourth periods. Goracke Altic and Nelson led Pomona with 13 11 and 25 by Keys paced the Braves with Wray and Alexander contributing.
