Trial reveals Kyle Flack tearful interview in 2013 slay case

In Franklin County District Court Ottawa a jury watched part of Kyle Flack’s May 8 2013 police interview. He cried when describing the missing 18 month old Lana Bailey and his location 50 miles from Ottawa as investigators linked three adult deaths to the case. Flack 30 faces capital murder charges for Kaylie Smith Bailey and Lana Bailey and additional charges including premeditated murder firearm possession and sexual battery. Detective Tammy Alexander led the 2013 interview shown to jurors as the trial opened.

Franklin County Republican caucus draws record turnout

Crowds filled Washburn Towers in Ottawa to cast ballots for the Republican presidential contenders. Ted Cruz led with 459 votes, followed by Donald Trump 185, Marco Rubio 129, and John Kasich 99 as total ballots reached 943, a fivefold rise from the previous cycle. Voters of all ages voiced desire for political change. Meghan Hinman, 20, Ottawa, said she wants to get America back. Shane Snowden, also of Ottawa, called the nation not on the right track.
