KU Museum of Anthropology Receives African Collections

KU professors announce three major additions to the KU Museum of Anthropology Africa collection. Gifts from H. Kenneth Palmer and from Dr. and Mrs. Larry Welling include masks, figures, a beaded ceremonial costume, and beaded accessories from the Ndebele. The pieces, dating from Yoruba Egungun ritual contexts to Ibo and Ekoi works, are described as culturally important and are slated for exhibit once the permanent gallery opens.
