Ottawa softball edges by in Wichita weekend tourney
Ottawa University softball went 3-2 over two days at the Friends Tournament in Wichita. The Lady Braves defeated Southwestern Christian University Mount Mercy University and Northwestern College, while losing to Oklahoma City University and Baker University. Freshman Tomi-Lyn Hickman homered and went 4-4 against Southwestern Christian. Rebekah Clinton earned a save in the 3-2 win over Mount Mercy. OU heads to the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Columbus Georgia with five games next.

Jensen Vaughn make first track nationals appearance
Ottawa native Michael Jensen placed 28th in the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships in Pittsburg with a 14.77 meter shot put. Adia Vaughn finished 22nd in the 60 meter dash in 7.87 seconds. OU outdoor season starts March 16 at Emporia State Spring Invitational.

Schooler Makes Showings at NAIA Nationals in Des Moines
Princeton native Chance Schooler finished his first Ottawa University season at 20-7 after competing in Des Moines at the NAIA Men's Wrestling National Championships in the 285 pound class. He opened with an 8-6 loss to Nick Fowler and then fell by fall to Aaron Rafalko in the consolation bracket.
