The Planning Zoning and Codes department, with six full time staff and a 390000 dollar annual budget, guided the city’s growth. In 2005 it updated zoning rules, subdivision regs, completed comprehensive plan work, pursued interlocal extraterritorial controls, oversaw plats in Fieldstone Ironhorse Gaynor 68 Estates Mallory Ottawa Family Housing Sugar Creek and Westwood Phase 2, and updated the former Ottawa Middle School PUD. Site plans for American Eagle Outfitters Walgreens USD 290 Sonic and others were approved. Building inspections hit a high, 41 administrative actions set a record, and several annexations added 844 acres led by a 300-acre Loma Vista parcel as 2006 starts.
