Ottawa Library Expands Services and Programs in 2005
The Ottawa Library reports a 2005 budget of about $680,000 with five full-time and 20 part-time staff. Circulation rose 2 percent as non print and children materials grow, while adult print declined. Programs in 2005 included a popular adult summer reading program with 175 readers and strong child participation, with 597 enrollments and 406 reaching the first award level. The library partnered on the Smithsonian Key Ingredients exhibit and launched Our Town projects, while computer use dipped but demand remained high and a senior citizen training program began with a waiting list.
