Wellsville oil man to resume drilling
Wellsville oilman and retired explorer Jim Mietchen plans test drilling in a muddy Nemaha County farm near Goff as price incentives and energy worries lure him back. He has leased 15,000 acres around a Nebraska border field and hopes a 4000 foot hole will yield millions, with a six to nine month payoff if proved. Mietchen notes a tight rig market since the oil bust and expects to fund operations from potential gains.
