Quality Factor Emphasized as PIK Sign-up Nears Deadline
Ottawa official David Hornung says payments under the Payment-In-Kind program will be adjusted for grain quality and differing 1983 loan rates. If CCC loaned or owned grain differs in grade, PIK quantities are reduced to reflect higher loan rates. PIK sign-up deadline is March 11 with local offices closing at 4 p.m. for paperwork.
