New Kansas Laws Set Drunk Driving Penalties and Taxes
Kansas moves Thursday to enforce jail terms for drunken driving and raise city sales tax caps to one cent while boosting loan interest to 21 percent. The measures, part of a broad statutes package, overhaul juvenile court rules, enlarge minimum prison terms for felonies, lift unemployment disqualification, raise training for officers, and expand tax and public service reforms affecting residents, businesses, and state workers.
