Moscow's Snobbery Among Students Warns of New Uni
An excerpt discusses Soviet higher education shaping a new generation of snobs, noting racial arrogance among Moscow students toward foreigners. It covers the planned People’s Friendship University for African, Asian, and Latin American students, to open with 500 pupils and expand, separately housed from Moscow University, amid foreign concerns of isolation and apartheid-like practices. The piece cites 1500 foreign students in Moscow and outlines Russian living allowances and funding challenges for scholars.
