Kansas State Schools Ask for 1982 Budget Increase
Kansas six public universities along with the medical and veterinary medicine schools filed fiscal year 1982 requests with the Board of Regents seeking about a 15 percent increase. Regents spent two days trimming these asks and did not finish. They plan further reductions before sending totals to the Budget Division in September, which historically trims again before the governor’s fall hearings. Final figures will go to the 1981 Legislature.
