Ex Clinton CIA chief backs Dole for proxy
Former CIA director James Woolsey endorsed Bob Dole saying he has the stature experience and knowledge to lead. Woolsey praised Doles foreign policy steadiness and missile defense support while avoiding direct attacks on Clinton. Dole planned a VP search and hoped for a pre convention pick. Gore fired back at Clinton over Russia and Yugoslavia issues.
