Library to hire collection agency amid overdue losses
Ottawa Library Board authorizes a collection agency as last resort to recover long overdue materials, aiming to reduce about $150 monthly write offs. Staff prioritize notices, with law changes allowing prosecution after 30 days of non return. Grants noted include $4,000 for videocassettes and nearly $1,000 literacy funds, plus a $3,500 library and state hospital grant.
