Three Die In Canadian Crash At Toronto Airport
An Air Canada DC-9 lost power on takeoff and crashed into a ravine at Toronto International Airport. Three people were killed and 45 or more injured among the 107 aboard, many taken to Etobicoke General and Sunnybrook hospitals. The plane, Flight 189 from Ottawa to Winnipeg and Vancouver, skidded off the runway about 12 miles northwest of downtown Toronto.
