New York AP reports negotiators for striking players and club owners met with federal mediator Kenneth Moffett in New York to seek movement after a collapsed round last Friday. The session, set for 2 p.m. EDT, follows his hint that talks would not resume without clear progress in the long-running impasse.

As MLB owners and the players union drift through another bargaining session, no concrete concession has emerged. Moffett offered only a vague interest in a meeting from one side, while Fehr and Miller gave mixed signals about proposals. Seaver cited fatigue after Friday’s aborted session, and owners prepare to collect up to 50 million in strike insurance as talks pause.
