Bennett Sees No Extra Revenue From Tuition Hikes
Gov. Robert F. Bennett said Kansas college tuition increases will not add new operating revenue. The Regents expect about $7 million more from a $50 resident tuition rise this fall, with 25 percent of costs borne by students. A 1976 bill removing the 1974 mandate was contingent on federal action, an error makes it effective next Thursday. Federal law could still require helmets for those 16 and under, but no new federal rule is expected until 1977.
