Same Dilemma For Italians
Rome AP reports Italy's Christian Democrats face the same coalition dilemma after falling 53 seats short of a majority. They must seek Socialists and other minor parties while keeping Communists out. Socialist Enrico Manca demands a leftist alliance, while Berlinguer signals patience and seeks influence without cabinet posts. The Socialists fear past informal pacts and the abortion law issue.
