Arlie Stewart finally gets a donated van in Ottawa Kansas
Five-year-old Arlie Stewart with cerebral palsy now has a 1999 Chevy Venture thanks to local donations and a low interest loan from Kansas Department of Transportation. About $3,836 was raised, roughly half the van’s cost, enabling transport to USD 290 Pathway to Access Learning. Contributions came from Sacred Heart School Readathon participants, Sunflower Piecemakers Quilt Guild, Ottawa Rotary, local businesses, churches, and many individuals including 12-year-old Caleb O'Donnell. The vehicle aids loading in and out of his wheelchair, improving daily travel for Arlie and his mother Lavonna Stewart.
