County limits taxiway plan for city airport upgrade
City seeks 375000 FAA funds to hard surface its taxiway and runway, add lights, and install a control tower. County officials refuse to fund rock hauling from road budget citing legal restrictions, offering only possible use of next year’s federal revenue sharing for the project. Near misses and unsafe taxiing underline the need for FAA aid since the airport lacks a control tower.
