Young dairyman aims to lead Thorn cattle into future
Roger Thorn, an 18 year old in Wellsville area, works beside his father at the Charles Thorn and Son dairy. An active SHAFF 4-H member and Holstein champion, he manages 12 of 30 cows on the 280 acre farm and handles grain, hay, and silage daily. He plans to milk about 50 cows with his senior partner while pursuing dairy knowledge through journals rather than college.
