On the Nebraska Kansas state line a limestone First Guide Meridian East stone, buried at a remote intersection, marks Nebraska and Kansas north south survey lines. Lancaster County surveyor Jerry Penry and colleagues plan to rebury the 150 year old marker with a brass cap, drawing hundreds of regional surveyors to Summerfield area.
