Investment Clubs Attract Bargain Hunters In Stock Market
New York AP reports women in Detroit started an investment club in mid May to seize bargains as the market fell. Amateur clubs show mixed results with a 2 percent average loss since January 1, while Dow Jones fell 8.8 percent by June 1 and 13.1 percent from its February peak. Some clubs gained, others folded, and about 40 000 clubs exist nationwide with 1.5 million members.
