Long Recession Threatens Social Security Benefit Payments

Corporate Taxes May Balance Federal Budget
Washington AP report says the House Ways and Means Committee backs a 4.2 billion tax rise mainly on large corporations to aid the 1981 budget balance. It also approved an emergency spending bill growing from 15 to 16.5 billion for refugee aid disaster relief and other programs, including 50 million to rebuild the Sunshine Skyway bridge and 784 million for Mount St Helens disaster repairs.
