Melvern Lake to release water in late June tests
Hydraulic engineer Jon M. Conley says Melvern Lake will conduct short duration water releases from June 23 to 25 into the Marais des Cygnes River. Tests by Corps of Engineers and US Geological Survey will measure outlet hydraulics and discharge to verify models and guide future dam design, with downstream rises fading quickly and no cropland flooding expected.
