Susan Latimer of Ottawa placed third in the 40 44 age division of the Topeka Tinman triathlon drawing about 700 entrants. She clocked just over two hours 30 minutes for the 1 000 yard swim 20 mile bike and 7 mile run. Latimer and her husband Mike Latimer both competed with Jeannie Cook Nancy Bruington and Roberta Rhoades forming Ottawa’s women’s team though none placed. Both Latimers are set to run the Kansas City Triathlon on June 29.

Gragg Sets State Marks in Junction City Meet
Jamie Gragg set three state records at the Kansas AAU Junior Olympics in Junction City, winning events in the 11 12 girls meter dash 10:48.9 and 5:04.7 and the 800 in 2:29.47. Jamie’s sibling Jimmy Gragg, 10 and under, placed sixth in the 3000 and 10th in the 1500. The top four in each event advance to the Missouri Valley meet at Manhattan June 28 25. Jamie runs Saturday at Shawnee Heights High School in the TAC Missouri Valley meet.
