The governor cited property rights, low redistribution and tort litigation as key factors, contrasting Kansas with Chamber of Commerce criticisms during the session.

Sprint to cut 1100 jobs amid competitive pressure
Sprint Corp will eliminate up to 1,100 jobs, about 1.6 percent of its workforce, with 850 in business services and up to 250 in information technology. The cuts are nationwide, about half in the Kansas City area, and workers will be notified by mid July. Sprint employs about 70,000, including 20,000 in the Kansas City area, and has reduced staff by more than 22,000 in two years.
