Eddie Hull and his 2000 Hampshires have amassed numerous trophies this season including grand champion truckload at Wichita and champion carcass purebred. A live boar ranks 45th nationally. Hull started with 11 sows, now 300, with 40 crossbred Hampshires. He favors crossbreeding for turnover and profitability and cites high demand for Hampshires.
Construction of the Citizenship Center at Rock Springs Ranch near Junction City advances with $600,000 contracts signed during the June 4 Friends of 4-H Day. Expected completion by summer 1972, the center aims to host Kansas youth for citizenship study and meetings. 4 H'ers in Franklin County combine rabbit and pigeon projects with 11 pigeon and 14 rabbit enrollees. Max Cartmill notes about 400 pigeon breeds, three pigeon groups and three rabbit fur types. Birds are identified by bands and ear tattoos, with shows nationwide encouraged to validate breeding programs and teach responsibility.

Four 4 H'ers Cindy Hollon Robert Hollon Lyle Humphrey and Betty Fabert were chosen from eight applicants to study the Perryton Texas 4 H program for a week starting July 8.
