Food Shorts: Tips for slicing cheese and cooking veg
Thin cheese slices require a dull knife and folded wax paper for clean cuts. Warm knives ease hard cheese. Broccoli parts vary in cooking. cook flowerets quickly and stems longer. Peel stalks to white flesh, cut short, cook five minutes, add flowerets. Steam vegetables to preserve vitamins and flavor. Leftover ideas include adding egg to spinach, stuffing tomatoes with corn, broccoli, or peas, and serving a cold fruit cup with berries and bananas.
