Two Killers Want To Die
Two teenagers in a tale of tragic irony say they began seven slayings across five states because they believed killing one justified more. The man they thought they killed survived, sparking murder charges. AWOL from Fort Hood, James Latham and George York seek the electric chair, citing Army harassment and racial integration as motives. They admit some killings without remorse, including a Black railroad porter in Tennessee. York and Latham, both 18 or 19, now face trials after fleeing May 24.
