Museum founder preserves farm era in Ottawa area collection
Wesley Sylvester built a museum on his southwest Ottawa farm housing a cross section of rural life. Items include a Wells Fargo trunk from the 1870s, Studebaker car and Rambler bicycle, farm machinery, old ads, and family heirlooms from Henry Sylvester’s line. Sylvester began restoring cars in 1955 and opened the museum in 1966, with plans for shows and occasional additions.
