Massachusetts teacher wins CIA file on Soviet letter
McElwain, a Harvard, Massachusetts teacher, requested CIA records under the Freedom of Information Act. The agency released a microfilm copy of a 1967 Soviet letter that never reached him, noting the original was classified for intelligence sources and methods. The Rockefeller Commission said mail opening was unlawful and halted in 1973.

Chrysler to bury Imperial after 50 years of luxury
DETROIT AP Chrysler Corp plans to discontinue the Imperial, ending its 50 year run since 1926. Industry sources say the move reflects shrinking sales as buyers shift to smaller cars and GM Cadillac and Ford Lincoln compete. The body and design will move to the New Yorker Brougham, with Imperial features offered as optional add-ons or dropped. Imperial sales have plunged from 34,500 in 1957 to fewer than 3,000 this year, leaving the model with about a 2 percent luxury market share. A four door Imperial is listed at 8894 dollars this year, up 13 percent from 1974.
