Betty Darlene Buckels Malburg 96 of Ottawa died June 9 2017 at Ottawa Retirement Village. Visitation 6 to 8 p.m. June 12 at Lamb Roberts Funeral Home Ottawa with service June 13. Born May 17 1920 at Ottawa to Harry Buckles and Eula Mulkey. Survived by four sons Dale Elvin Ronnie Dudley and Elvin and Rita Pollom seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband Elvin and son Gary and brothers Larry and Robert.

New Horizon Ranch expands inclusive horse camps for all ages
New Horizon Ranch runs half day to week long horse camps for children ages five to eighteen, blending disabled and non disabled riders. About 75 campers last year with programs from beginner to advanced trotting and rodeo events. The ranch plans a 14000 square foot indoor arena to offer year round lessons and expects future growth with a $500000 fundraising goal.

Tours of Ottawa water plants offered by Old Depot Museum
The Old Depot Museum and the City of Ottawa will offer free 45 minute tours of Ottawa water treatment and water reclamation plants on Friday. Tours start hourly at 8 9 10 and 11 a.m. Tickets must be reserved by calling 785 242 1250 or via eventbrite. Print tickets or photo ID required. Stairs required to access plants. strollers not allowed. The exhibit Go Over Around and Through Water runs through August 20 at the Old Depot Museum with support from the Kansas Humanities Council.
