Compromise on Lebanese border postpones UN verification
The UN verification of Israel’s southern Lebanon withdrawal was delayed in Lebanon over a border line dispute. Lebanon objected to the UN drawn frontier and asked for technical help, then agreed to resume with a UN cartographer the next morning as work continued on the Israeli side. The withdrawal was completed May 24 and the UN aims to deploy along the affirmed border once verification is finished.
